Sansevieria Films, which produced Finding A Dream, an 81-minute feature,
on a $2,500 budget, in 2005, is now planning to film its next fictional
feature-length motion picture,
Breaking Tradition.

We estimate that Breaking Tradition will cost somewhere in the $2 to 2.5
million dollar range to produce it. The catch is that the film is currently
planned to be made entirely outside the studio system, yet with great talent.
We will be attempting to attach some reasonably well-known names to the
project over the next couple of years while we are raising the funds for the
project, and once we get talent attached to the project, we will notify you
here at breaking-tradition.com.

Finding A Dream, visit the Sansevieria Films website at

FUNDRAISING

We estimate that Breaking Tradition will cost $2,000,000 to $2,500,000 to
complete filming. However, we are still in the process of contacting the
agents of the talent we are interested in attaching to the project. Therefore,
the final budget could eventually be higher or lower than we estimated. We
are not actively seeking investments in
Breaking Tradition at this time,
however we are looking into other sources of fundraising.

THE STORY
Bernard ("Ben") Mitchell was accepted to a prestigeous performing arts
college his senior year in high school, but couldn't go because his parents
couldn't afford the tuition, yet they made too much money for him to get
financial aid. Seven years later, still a little bitter that he never got to have
the college experience, he finds out that parental income no longer counts
against one's financial aid after age 24. After finding out he can get enough
aid, including loans, to get a full ride, Ben decides to go off to school, never
mind that he's a few years older than the others. Ben's decision infuriates
his father, who has such an obsession with avoiding debt that he refused to
take out a loan so Ben could attend at traditional age, but it does not stop
Ben from going off to his performing arts college later that year.
He arrives with the hope that he will fit in, and nobody will notice he is
older than them. After all, he's only a few years older than they are. He
soon finds out that most of the other students really don't care that he's
older than them. In one of his classes, he meets Natalia, a second-year
student in a five year program, who took two years off after graduating
high school. They hit it off, and begin a relationship, which causes Ben to
quickly make an enemy with Sully, Natalia's ex-boyfriend. Sully is your
typical frat-boy, traditional-aged, whose primary objective at college is to
party and have fun, even at the expense of others. Natalia left him because
she didn't want to be involved with a guy who was constantly pressuring
her to sleep with him. However, Sully still has a burning desire to "get in the
sack" with her, and refuses to accept that their relationship is over. Once
Ben and Natalia are involved, Sully seeks to ruin Ben's reputation any way
he can.

THE CHARACTERS

Some of the characters in Breaking Tradition include, but are not limited to:

BEN - A 25-year-old incoming freshman who always dreamed of the
traditional college experience. However, his parents couldn't afford to send
him when he was 18, and his father refused to co-sign his student loans.
Also, he couldn't get financial aid because even though his parents couldn't
afford the tuition to a traditional residential college, they also made too
much money for him to get financial aid. After age 24, the U.S.
Government doesn't count parental income in regard to college students
seeking aid, so Ben is taking advantage of that.

NATALIA - Natalia is 21, four years younger than Ben, and a second-year
student in a five-year double-major program in theatre and film production.
She was accepted to the university at age 18, but deferred for two years
following the tragic death of her parents and younger brother in an
automobile accident the same year she was accepted. She was the only
survivor of the accident. Natalia briefly dated Sully, until she figured out
what a jerk he actually is, and dumped him.

SULLY - A third-year student who just barely holds the minimum grade
point average required by the University, Earl W. Sullivan III, better known
as Sully, is president of the most popular fraternity on campus. He can get
just about any girl he wants, and does everything he can to make sure the
girls who reject his advances can't get other dates. He briefly dated Natalia
during her freshman year, but she dumped him because he pressured her to
sleep with him, and she wasn't ready for a sexual relationship with anyone.
Natalia was single from the time she dumped Sully until she meets Ben.

JULIAN - Bernard's roommate, a fairly quirky but friendly person who is
frequently mistaken for being gay (He isn't.).

MARY - A student in one of Bernard's classes that is of the mindset that
any male who so much as says hello to her is trying to get in her pants.
Bernard makes the mistake of saying hello to her when she is glaring at him,
following what they tell the freshmen about "greet anyone who makes eye
contact with you" and makes a fast enemy, who glares at him every time
she sees him, and makes fun of him with her circle of friends. Natalia was
a friend of hers at one time, but lost respect for her some time ago.

SERENA - Ben's younger sister, who is about to graduate high school, and
going through the same issue of her father not willing to co-sign student
loans so she can to the college she wants to attend.

PRODUCERS

Blake Hutchison

The writer, producer, and director of Finding A Dream, Sansevieria's first
feature released in 2005, Blake wrote the script for
Breaking Tradition
slightly based on his own experiences being a residential student who
entered college in his mid-twenties. However, the character names,
locations, and most of the situations have been changed, and it is not
intended as a biography of his own life. In addition to
Finding A Dream,
Blake is the creator of the Messing With Humans series, which can be
found at YouTube and other online video outlets.
