Sansevieria (the plant) has been a well-known fixture in the movies for decades. This is one of many reasons why we decided on Sansevieria as our production name and logo.
If you watch television (especially CBS), you've probably seen a sansevieria. Sansevieria also makes frequent appearances in the movies.
KNOWN SANSEVIERIA SIGHTINGS IN MOVIES
* Apollo 13 -- Scene in the room where they're watching the moon landing on TV (it's right behind the television) * Dear God * Finding A Dream (big surprise, right?) -- in Maurice's office, there are two. One is on his desk, the other is on a shelf behind him (we actually had to move it a couple of feet so it didn't look like he was wearing a headdress...) * Groundhog Day * Meet the Fockers (appears in numerous scenes) * Mr. and Mrs. Smith * National Treasure (in the police station in Philadelphia) * The Paper * Police Academy 1 (In Commandant Lassard's home, about 20 minutes in. Also, during riot scene toward end, where Fackler is looking at suits in a suit shop window.) * Police Academy 3 (about 10 minutes into movie, where Bud is looking for Tackleberry. If you sneeze, you'll miss it) * Taxi (in Belle's apartment/garage) * Shrek 2 -- In the honeymoon montage with Shrek, Fiona, and mermaid. * Sister Act 1 (In Mother Superior's office)
KNOWN SANSEVIERIA SIGHTINGS ON TELEVISION
* Still Standing (CBS) -- it's in front of the closet, to the left of the stairs * Yes, Dear (CBS) -- At the foot of the stairs, a little to the left of the stairs.
